MEPs call for stronger EU cyber defence strategy

The European Parliament has adopted a resolution calling for more European cooperation on cyber defence in response to recent cyber attacks on critical EU infrastructure by Russia, China and North Korea. MEPs also urged EU member states to improve their cyber defence expertise, with MEP Marietje Schaake urging them to appoint an EU cyber envoy to coordinate the bloc's diplomatic efforts to advance an open and secure internet in its dealings with third countries.
