Mercado Livre, Wayra announce fund for Brazilian start-ups

Latin American e-commerce site Mercado Livre has announced an agreement with Telefonica unit Wayra to provide incentives for start-ups. The total investment to be made in companies will be USD 10 million. Brazil will be the second country to benefit from the partnership, with the creation of the 'MercadoLibre Commerce Fund'. Start-ups will be chosen to best use the potential of the MercadoLivre platform from their APIs. The most innovative technology projects will be identified in Brazil and, through the use of MercadoLivre APIs, will contribute to the entire ecosystem of the company:
