Merkel says 700 MHz frequency auction to take place in 2015

Broadband expansion was discussed at a meeting with the heads of the German federal states, the national government has announced. Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the Federation and the individual states have determined the course for an accelerated allocation of 700 MHz frequencies. The auction is due to take place in the first half of next year. According to Merkel, this will release additional funds for broadband expansion in Germany.
