Metroweb seeks EUR 100 mln loan to expand network - report

Milan-based broadband provider Metroweb is negotiating a EUR 100 million loan with Italian bank Unicredit to cover the further expansion of its fibre-optic network, reports business daily Milano Finanza. The company is still waiting for news on precisely how and when the government intends to implement its recently approved Strategy for Italian Broadband and Digital Growth 2014-20 but, in the meantime, it is pressing ahead with plans to cover 7 to 8 percent of the Italian territory. Metroweb has so far invested around EUR 300 million in expanding its fibre-optic network to northern Italian
