Mexican court overturns MXN 33.6 mln Megacable fine

Mexican cable operator Megacable won't have to pay a MXN 33.6 million imposed by the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) for monopolistic practices, after the second district court specialising in telecommunications accepted its appeal, reports website Tabasco Hoy. The regulator fined Megacable in February 2014, accusing the operator of failing to agree with competitors to divide, distribute, assign or impose portions or segments of the markets for the production, distribution and marketing of fixed telephony, pay-TV and internet access services to end-users in various municipalities
