Mexican govt says power network crucial for telecoms

Mexican operators must be given regulated access to the state's electricity's infrastructure at a fair price in order to achieve the government's target of encouraging widespread and affordable telecoms services, the communications ministry said. Reasonably-priced access to the public network is also crucial to growth in the competitive telecoms and broadcasting industries, the Federal Telecoms Institure (IFT) added at a symposium attended by ministers, regulators and the private sector.
