Mexican internet users up 12% to 79 mln - study

Mexico ended 2017 with some 79.1 million internet users, up 12 percent year on year and equivalent to 67 percent of the population aged 6 and above, according to a report conducted by the Competitive Intelligence Unit (CIU) for the country's internet association Internet.mx. The vast majority of users – 89 percent – access the internet via their smartphones, whose penetration reached nearly 86 percent of active mobile lines at the end of 2017.
