Mexican mobile lines up 3% to 112.8 mln in Q2

Mexican mobile lines rose to 112.8 million at the end of the second quarter, around 2.9 percent up on the year-earlier result and equivalent to a penetration rate of 91.3 percent, according to the latest data by The Competitive Intelligence Unit (CIU). Some 95.9 million of those lines, or 85.0 percent of the total, correspond to smartphones, up 16.9 percent year on year, with the number of active feature phones declining by 38.9 percent to 16.9 million.
