Mexican regulator refuses to renew Maxcom microwave licences

Mexican telecoms regulator Ifetel refused to extend Maxcom's licence to provide internet services over digital microwave in 13 states, daily La Cronica reported. Ifetel found that the company was behind in fulfilling its licence obligations and had failed to observe the correct timetable for its renewal request. The company said in a filing with the Mexican stock market that it will contest Ifetel's decison concerning the licences, which comes into effect when they expire on 1 April 2018. Maxcom was ordered to suspend multipoint microwave distribution services in three blocks in the 10GHz
