Mexico's Supreme Court ruled that broadcaster Grupo Televisa does not have "substantial power" in the pay-TV market in a judgment handed down at the start of February, reports local daily Reforma. The ruling comes after Televisa appealed against a decision from telecom regulator IFT issued a year ago that the company had substantial power in the pay-TV market, potentially resulting in tougher measures. However, the Supreme Court has now ordered the IFT to vacate its decision and cancel the procedure requiring Televisa to take steps to increase competition.
