Mexican telecom complaints up 8% in Q1

Mexico's 'Soy Usuario' online consumer platform received a total of 3,108 complaints in the first quarter of 2018, up 7.7 percent compared to a year earlier, according to the country's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) and consumer protection agency Profeco. Nearly 47 percent of the complaints corresponded to service failures while 18 percent were due to billing issues, with mobile telephony accounting for around half of the complaints, followed by internet, pay-TV and fixed telephony.
