Mexican to chair ITU group to review telecom regulations

The Council of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) elected Fernando Borjon Figueroa, Director General of the Promoting Body of Investment in Telecommunications (Promtel), as chairman of the Group of Experts on the International Telecommunication Regulations. During its eighth plenary meeting, the representatives of the 48 countries that make up the ITU Council elected the Mexican official among candidates from South Korea, Italy and Mexico.
