Mexico adds 1,600 new sites to public connectivity plan

Mexico's Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT) has identified over 1,600 new sites to be added to the country's ambitious Public Sites Connectivity Programme first announced back in 2019 to replace the previous administration's Mexico Conectado free public Wi-Fi initiative, reports business daily El Economista. The new sites in Veracruz, Oaxaca, Guerrero, Puebla, San Luis Potosi, Chiapas and Hidalgo will be added to the initial 19,041 identified in 2019, bringing the total to 20,624 sites in underserved parts of the country, mostly located in schools, welfare buildings and
