Mexico approves fixed access network cost model

Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) has approved a cost model for the country's fixed access network. It will enable the regulator to determine the tariffs for access to services and infrastructure provided by the so-called "Preponderant Economic Agent" to other operators. The approval follows a public consultation that took place from October to November 2015 covering wholesale services from the leading telecom and dominant broadcasting operators, including Telmex, Telnor, Telcel, America Movil, Carso Group and Inbursa Group, and Televisa.
