Mexico approves new rules for operator access to electric poles

Tuesday 30 October 2018 | 11:36 CET | News
Mexican electricity regulator CRE has approved a new set of rules governing how telecommunications companies can use the country's network of electricity poles to roll out their cables. Starting on 01 January 2019, operators will be given more facilities to access the 11 million-plus electricity posts serving 98 percent of the population, paying a maximum of MXN 100.8 (just over USD 5) per post used, depending on the weight of the cables deployed.
