Mexico City rents infrastructure space on 70 public buildings

The infrastructure sharing initiative launched by Mexico's Ministry of Communications and Transport (SCT) a year ago has so far generated interest only in Mexico City, reports El Financiero, citing SCT head Edgar Olvera. The demand for mobile capacity in the capital has seen operators sign a total of 70 contract to lease roof space on public buildings for infrastructure deployments, said Olvera. The ministry last year reached a deal with 11 of the country's states to give telecommunications operators access to some 13,000 public buildings to help reduce infrastructure costs and increase
