Mexico considering new satellite build

Mexico is considering the possibility of building a new satellite as part of its Mexsat programme, reports news portal Excelsior, citing communications undersecretary Monica Aspe Bernal. The new satellite would replace the Centenario, which was destroyed during a failed launch last year, and provide support to the Morelos 3 satellite launched in October. However, the report adds that the government won't be using the USD 390 million in insurance money it recovered from the failed Centenario launch to fund the new satellite.
