Mexico delays 2.5 GHz band auction until Q1 2017

Tuesday 23 August 2016 | 09:26 CET | News
Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) has announced a delay in the planned auction of spectrum in the 2.5 GHz frequency band. The regulator had initially planned to hold the auction in the second half of 2016, but has now pushed back the process until the first quarter of 2017. The aim is to increase participation by waiting until the completion of the tender to build and operate a 4G network using 90 MHz on the 700 MHz band, said the IFT.
