Mexico govt's 2.5 GHz spectrum recovery could take years

Mexico's competition watchdog Cofeco said that a government bid to reclaim 2.5 GHz spectrum could pave the way for other operators to challenge the dominance of tycoon Carlos Slim and broadcaster Televisa. Mexico recently announced that it will reclaim the 2.5 GHz band from 11 companies. The government aims to then re-auction this spectrum, but the process could take years.
