Mexico has 11.2 GHz of bandwidth over 9 bands for 5G use

Wednesday 10 April 2019 | 10:10 CET | News
The spectrum unit of Mexico's telecommunications regulator IFT has identified the availability of some 11.5 GHz of 5G-compatible bandwidth, said the watchdog in a report. The vast majority of the available spectrum – 10.55 GHz – is located in frequencies above the 26 GHz band, said the report, but also includes the 2.5 GHz spectrum assigned to AT&T and Telefonica last November as well as the recently-liberated 600 MHz band and the 700 Mhz band used exclusively for Red Compartida's wholesale 4G shared network.
