Mexico reaches 40,000 public sites with free broadband

Mexico is expected to have 65,000 public sites providing free broadband access by the end of 2014, according to government officials. The national connectivity program Mexico Conectado (Connected Mexico) stipulates a total of 250,000 sites nationwide providing free broadband access by 2018. There are currently 40,000 sites across the country which provides free broadband access. Mexico will introduce free broadband access at 25,000 additional sites this year, including schools, parks, libraries government buildings and hospitals. Mexico, Morelos, Colima and Tabasco stares are part of this
