Mexico submits number portability project for consulation

Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) has decided to submit for public inspection its Draft Regulations on Number Portability and the Fundamental Technical Plan, which date back to June 1996. With the issuance of the Portability Rules, the IFT will comply with the Federal Telecommunications and Broadcasting Act, which establishes that the regulator must issue, within 60 working days of entry into force, the administrative rules that eliminate requirements that might prevent or delay number portability.
