Mexico to offer free internet access in 112,000 public buildings

Monday 9 December 2019 | 11:46 CET | News
The Mexican government plans to offer free broadband access in some 112,706 public sites all over the country, reports Reforma, citing the new Public Sites Connectivity Programme announced by the Undersecretariat of Communications and Technological Development. The access will be provided by the 'CFE Telecomunicaciones e Internet para Todos' subsidiary of the country's Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), which was granted a single concession to provide non-profit telecommunications services and internet access to underserved parts of the country earlier this year.
