Mexico to reorganise 1900 MHz band by 2016

Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) is planning to reorganise the 1900 MHz band into large and contiguous blocks by 2016 in order to offer LTE services, reports El Economista. Alejandro Navarrete, director of the Radio Spectrum Unit of the IFT, told the daily that the regulator has started signing agreements with concession holders for public and private networks and with the US for the best use of frequencies in the 800 MHz spectrum for mobile services.
