Mexico tops OECD mobile broadband growth in 2015

Mexico was the fastest-growing country in mobile broadband penetration in the 35-nation OECD area last year, reports communications regulator IFT, citing recent OECD data. The Latin American country posted a 21.3 percent mobile broadband penetration growth rate in 2015, almost double the average growth of 10.7 percent registered in the entire OECD area, reaching a total penetration of 51.7 percent. Mexico was also the fourth fastest-growing country in fixed broadband penetration behind Portugal, Switzerland and Greece, although it still lagged in 35th and last place with 12.05 subscriptions
