Mexico's Alestra and Axtel sign final merger agreements

Friday 4 December 2015 | 15:48 CET | News
Mexican operator Axtel has announced that it has signed definitive agreements to proceed with the merger with rival telecommunications company Alestra, a unit of industrial conglomerate Alfa. The operator added that the companies have also completed all legal, financial and operating due diligences but that the transaction remained subject to the approvals of Mexico's antitrust regulator and Axtel's shareholders. The companies first announced their planned merger in October, confirming that Axtel would continue to trade on the Mexican Stock Exchange, with Alestra as its subsidiary.
