Mexico's Axtel completes buy of IT services firm Estratel

Tuesday 5 July 2016 | 11:34 CET | News
Mexican operator Axtel has announced the acquisition of the remaining 49 percent of local IT services provider Estratel, present in Guadalajara, Queretaro, Merida, Campeche, Chetumal, Mexico City and Monterrey. Axtel now owns 100 percent of Estratel after Alestra acquired 51 percent of the IT tech firm in May 2015. Estratel will retain its brand and continue to operate independently with the backing of Axtel's fibre-optic network and data centres. Axtel and Alestra closed their merger earlier this year.
