Mexican operator and ICT services provider Axtel has announced the successful issue of USD 500 million in new international bonds expiring in 2024 at a coupon of 6.375 percent. The company said the new funds will be used to refinance debt payments due in 2019.

Axtel last month issued a statement to the Mexican Stock Exchange denying rumours of a potential sale but acknowledging it had hired banks for consultation on sales of non-core assets such as towers.
