Mexico's Chamber of Deputies approves telecom law

Wednesday 9 July 2014 | 14:38 CET | News
The Chamber of Deputies of Mexico has approved the latest reform of the telecommunications sector, which aims to increase competition in a system dominated by America Movil and Televisa, reports the paper Informador. MPs approved, by 340 votes in favor and 129 against, the so-called secondary laws of constitutional reform, which had been approved last week in the Senate. Lawmakers continued discussing several items that were on the agenda, before sending the complete project to President Enrique Pena for publication in the Official Gazette.
