Mexico's Constitutional Court confirms 'must carry' rules

Mexico's Supreme Court of Justice has rejected legal actions filed by Televisa and its subsidiaries against obligations introduced by the Federal Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law, reports El Universal. These obligations impose on cable and satellite TV operators the duty to broadcast, free of charge, the signal of the national free-to-air TV channels. Mexico's highest court reached its verdict unanimously, pointing out that the ruling is in line with constitutional reform in the area of telecommunications.
