Mexico's IFT, Profeco join forces to boost consumer rights

Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) and consumer protection agency Profeco have signed an agreement to strengthen their cooperation for the benefit of the country's telecom users. Under the terms of the deal, the partners will set up a joint review of service providers' contracts to find clauses that may infringe the rights of users. The institutions will also launch a joint training programme on competition issues and other procedures and concepts applicable to service providers.
