Mexico's Izzi applies 4% price hike due to peso fall

Wednesday 12 October 2016 | 15:54 CET | News
Mexican triple play operator Izzi Telecom, owned by media conglomerate Televisa Group, has applied an average price hike of 4 percent due to the depreciation of the Mexican peso against the US dollar, reports local business daily El Financiero. The price of the operator's basic digital TV package will rise from MXN 321 to MXN 334 as a result, with the hike set to be applied to customers' October bills. The report adds that rival companies such as Sky, Axtel and Dish are also contemplating a price rise but Megacable has committed to keeping rates at their current level.
