Mexico's Maxcom to help retailer Soriana launch MVNO

Mexican triple-play operator Maxcom Telecomunicaciones has reached an MVNE agreement to help local supermarket chain Soriana launch mobile services in Mexico City and Monterrey using the Telcel network, reports El Universal, citing Soriana e-commerce director Rafael Casteltort. The supermarket's Soriana Movil service will initially be available in 20 stores before expanding to 830 Soriana supermarkets and 130 convenience stores over the coming months. The supermarket is targeting housewives aged 25-45 for its mobile offering, which will be tied to its point-based loyalty progamme, said
