Mexico's Telecomm awarded orbital slot for mobile services

Mexican communications regulator IFT has announced that state-owned operator Telecomm has been granted a licence to occupy and exploit an orbital position at 116.8 degrees west longitude for wireless voice and data services via satellite. Telecomm has been tasked with providing services to national security agencies and carrying out social coverage programmes, said the regulator in a statement.
