Mexico's Unefon admits unlimited data plan is capped at 5 Mbps

Monday 17 September 2018 | 15:15 CET | News
Mexican mobile operator Unefon has admitted that its unlimited data plans have a 5Mbps speed limit even though they use AT&T's 4G-LTE network. The operator acknowledged that speeds would be capped at 5 Mbps for a maximum of 5 Gbps a day, reducing to 1 Mbps once the limit is reached, reports Xataka Mexico. Users have complained that the MVNO failed to publish information on speed limits when the "unlimited data" plans were launched earlier this year.
