Mexsat programme still on course despite Centenario crash

Mexico's satellite programme (Mexsat) remains on course despite last week's crash of a Proton rocket carrying the Centenario satellite, reports business daily El Economista, citing Pacome Revillon, CEO of Euroconsult. "With a satellite in orbit (the Bicentenario) and the Morelos III to be launched in October, the country will have different frequencies and sufficient coverage," said Revillon. The Centenario was intended for the Mexican communication and transportation ministry's new USD 1.6 billion space-based communications network, but communications minister subsequently Gerardo Ruiz
