MGTS to distribute free ZigBee-compliant IoT routers at cost of RUB 1.4 bln

Russian regional fixed operator MGTS, working in the city and region of Moscow, plans to distribute 550,000 free routers supporting IoT to its subscribers, reports Vedomosti. The devices support the ZigBee protocol, which is popular among producers of Smart House devices. The operator plans to spend RUB 1.4 billion on the distribution.
