Infinesse's HBT Business Products Group (Los Angeles, CA) has been acquired by Microsemi (Santa Ana, CA). With the acquisition, Microsemi acquires HBT and RF expertise in III-Vs and SiGe for PCS, cellular and 3G, 5.7GHz LAN and Bluetooth applications. The purchase forms part of Microsemi's expansion into wireless broadband comms and mixed-signal and analogue chips. Microsemi has also boosted its optical sensors range, offering products which serve as a high-density alternative to galvanic isolation transformers, including optocouplers, photodiodes and photovoltaic MOSFET array drivers.
