Microsoft creates software research centre at Madrid's IMDEA

Microsoft has joined forces with Madrid's IMDEA Software Institute to set up the Madrid Joint Research Centre at IMDEA's headquarters in Pozuelo de Alarcon. The initial 3-year agreement will see Microsoft providing funds for cutting-edge research in cloud storage systems, mobile platforms, security, cryptography, programming languages and verification, among other areas. The Madrid Research Centre joins the network of centres set up by Microsoft in Europe, including Saclay in France, Rovereto in Italy, Zurich in Switzerland and Barcelona.
