Microsoft gets up to 7,000 govt info requests in US in H2

For the six months to the end of December 2012, Microsoft received between 6,000 and 7,000 criminal and national security warrants, subpoenas and orders affecting between 31,000 and 32,000 consumer accounts from US government entities. Microsoft's previously released law enforcement report for 2012, did not include FISA requests. The company added that its has not received any national security orders of the type that Verizon reportedly did, requiring it to provide business records about US customers.
