Microsoft launches French version of Bing, signs PagesJaunes

Microsoft went live with its Bing search engine in France on 1 March. Its beta version captured an around 3 percent market share. The rollout of the finalised version of Bing in France builds upon its availability in other markets such as Canada, the UK and Japan. The company has signed agreements with eight French newspapers and magazines, directories website of PagesJaunes, film site AlloCine and the French national library. Microsoft France CEO Eric Boustouller told AFP that content from these sources is highlighted by displaying a small logo next to the search result to better visualise
