Microsoft puts eco-friendly data centre prototype on sea floor

Microsoft has embarked on Phase 2 of Project Natick, which explores the idea that data centres can be based on the sea floor. It has lowered an eco-friendly, shipping-container-sized prototype data centre onto the sea floor in the Orkney Islands, off the coast of Scotland.
