Midcontinent brings Docsis 3.1 to Fargo area

Friday 25 September 2015 | 09:37 CET | News
Homes and businesses in Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo will be the first to receive gigabit internet from Midcontinent Communications. The move marks another milestone in the company's commitment to deliver gigabit internet speeds to its entire footprint by the end of 2017. An exact gigabit launch date for Fargo has yet to be determined. The company must first deploy Docsis 3.1 cable modems, which enable gigabit internet speeds without a direct fibre connection for the first time. Docsis 3.1 modems are expected to become available in the marketplace in early 2016.
