Middle East, Africa PC market contracts 26% in Q2

The Middle East and Africa (MEA) PC market suffered a sharp year-on-year decline of 25.6 percent in Q2, marking the steepest decline ever recorded in the region for a single quarter by IDC. The market researcher estimates that overall PC shipments for the quarter fell to 3.3 million units. Desktops were down 21.2 percent year-on-year to 1.4 million units, and the notebook segment declined 28.6 percent to 1.9 million units. Two of the biggest declines were seen in Turkey and the 'Rest of the Middle East' region (Iran, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, and Palestine). Both these territories
