Middle East, Africa to have 850,000 mobile users by 2017

There are forecast to be nearly 850,000 mobile users in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) by 2017, according to Cisco's Visual Networking Index. Mobile data traffic is projected to reach 861,298 TB a month by 2017. Business customers' data consumption in MEA multiplied by 1.7 in 2012 and is forecast to grow eleven-fold from 2012 to 2017. Video will account for 72 percent of data traffic in 2017, compared with 47 percent at the end of 2012. Smartphones, tablets and laptops will be the source of 93 percent of global data traffic by 2017, with M2M (including car-GPS, vehicle fleet systems,
