Milan city council has inaugurated its 'Smart City Week', a three-day event devoted to smart city initiatives running until 29 May, and announced that EUR 52 million in funds from the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research (MIUR) and the Lombardy region has been invested in nurturing 10 digital startups. In addition, another 10 smart city projects in five different local authority areas will receive a further EUR 3 million in funding from the local chamber of commerce and Milan city council.
