Miliband, Cable call for Fox takeover of Sky to be blocked

James Murdoch's continued role in his father's media empire is sufficient reason for the proposed takeover of Sky by 21st Century Fox to be blocked, according to Ed Miliband and Vince Cable. Milliband is the former leader of the Labour party and Liberal Democrat Cable was business minister when Murdoch last attempted to take full control of Sky. In an opinion piece in The Observer, the politicians point to the suspected role of Murdoch's son in the alleged deletion of incriminating emails in the phone-hacking scandal in the UK.
