Millicom organic service revenue growth slows to 4.1% in Q1

Millicom reported a drop in first-quarter results, hurt by weaker economic conditions in some of its markets. Revenues fell 8.5 percent to USD 1.528 billion, and adjusted EBITDA was down 3.6 percent to USD 550 million. The company said organic growth was still 2.1 percent in revenue and 4.1 percent in service revenue. In Latin America, organic revenue rose 0.7 percent to USD 1.308 billion, with service revenue up 2.9 percent. Growth slowed due to lower handset sales particularly in Colombia, competition on mobile prices and some seasonal effect from Easter falling in Q1 this year. In Africa,
