Minister weighs in on possible tie-up between BNF, Google

French culture minister Frederic Mitterand has reacted to news that national library BNF was talking to Google about digitising its holdings by saying that no option could be privileged at this stage in light of the budget required to pursue and expand the cultural policy of transferring the state's cultural heritage into digital format. He added that any solution chosen willh have to strictly respect authors' rights.
