Mobile IoT connections pass 1 billion mark in 2018, pushed by strong growth in China

The number of mobile IoT subscribers worldwide leaped by 70 percent last year to 1.2 billion, and is expected to reach 9.0 billion IoT devices connected to mobile networks by 2023, according to the latest study from Berg Insight. Global revenues from mobile IoT connectivity services advanced 19 percent in the year to EUR 6.7 billion. The ten largest players had a combined revenue share of around 80 percent.
